The zombie trimester

Pregnancy is amazing, when you think about it. But when you go on how you feel physically, it isn't that much fun. At least not right now. We were so excited when we first found out, but pretty soon after the tests, I started feeling a bit off. And then a bit more. And then the tiredness really set in. I've been sleeping about 10 hours each night, and I've still been feeling like I need a nap. Or two. Last night I fell asleep on the couch at about 7 or so. Aside from getting up and spending a bit of time with George when he got home, I mostly slept through the entire night. I've been saying that the baby has turned me into a zombie, perhaps in preparation for Halloween. I'm starting to feel a bit better, though. I have an appetite again, which is wonderful. So all in all, all going well here.

We just had our first appointment with the midwife. I was so excited - and for some reason, a bit nervous. It all was pretty straightforward, though. Lots of forms to fill out, a few tests to do and a few things to talk about. I got to have a little look around the ward - and we saw where we'll have our scan next week. Just a few more days till it's all officially official! It was really good to have George there with me - he held my hand while I had my blood tests, and he said this time, I didn't squeeze his hand hard like I normally do when the needle goes in. (I was thinking about the baby.)

Off to watch the baseball game now (go Cards!), but I'll post more soon.

Love,
Erin, George and the baby

PS - George says he's tired, too. He's been working hard to take care of me. :)
